Food Bank Partnerships / Food Drives

Partnering with food banks

Kellogg works closely with food banks on six continents in more than 30 countries to help feed people in need, including Food Banks Canada, which has more than 500 member food banks; the Mexican Foodbank Network of 50 food banks; European Food Banks Federation; and Feeding America with 200 member food banks.

As a founding partner of The Global FoodBanking Network, we have long understood the benefit of a strong food banking infrastructure to help address hunger around the world. For example, we worked with them to help The Food Bank Singapore with food donations when it first started more than a decade ago and continue to support it today with food and cash donations. Today, The Food Bank Singapore leverages technology to increase engagement through non-fungible tokens (NFTs) and even a presence in the metaverse, as well as to help those facing food insecurity in the island nation through high-tech vending machines.

Rallying the community to make an impact

We also engage those who share our passion by sponsoring food drives. Food drives make it easy to donate food to organizations that support those facing hunger. For example:

  • United Way’s Summer Stock Up effort to stock food pantry shelves in the U.S. at a time when donations typically drop, and the need is even greater with children home on school break.
  • The U.S. National Association of Letter Carriers Stamp Out Hunger food drive, the single largest food drive in the U.S., that encourages people to simply place food donations near their mailboxes for their letter carriers to collect and deliver to community food banks.
  • For almost 10 years, Kellogg employees around the world have honored World Food Day in October by advocating for food insecurity, including hosting food drives and meal-packing events. In 2022, our employees in every region volunteered an incredible 2,400+ hours in their communities, either virtually or in person, with Kellogg pledging $10 to long-time partner United Way for every hour that U.S.-based employees logged. In Australia, for example, employees and their family members came together to give the Pantry4ThePeople food pantry in Botany, New South Wales—Kellogg’s home in Australia for almost 95 years—a makeover and an ongoing commitment of food donations.
