Progress Toward Our Better Days Promise 

The chart below reports our progress from 2015 through year-end 2022 towards our global Better Days® Promise to advance sustainable and equitable access to food by addressing the intersection of wellbeing, hunger, sustainability and equity, diversity and inclusion for 3 billion people by the end of 2030. We’re proud to have created better days for 1.8 billion people since 2015.

All commitments are global and conclude at the end of 2030, with a 2015 baseline, unless otherwise noted. Issue Area Commitment Progress in 2022
Wellbeing Nourish 1 billion people with our foods by the end of 2030. Since 2015, we’ve nourished more than 989 million people with our foods around the world.
Hunger Feed 375 million people in need by the end of 2030. Since 2015, we’ve fed over 252 million people facing food insecurity.
 

This includes more than 247 million people facing hunger or crisis fed with food donations.
 

And more than 5 million kids reached through feeding programs.
Sustainability Nurture people and planet, including support for farmers, agronomists, women and smallholders by the end of 2030. Since 2015, we’ve supported more than 485,000 farmers and agronomists, including 37,200 smallholders, 15,500 women farmers and 2,500 agronomists.
Reduce absolute Scope 1 & 2 greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 45% by the end of 2030. Since 2015, we’ve reduced absolute Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 33%. 
Partner across our value chain to reduce absolute Scope 3 GHG emissions by 15% by the end of 2030. Since 2015, we’ve reduced absolute Scope 3 greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 13%. (as of December 2021)
Achieve 100% renewable electricity in all global Kellogg manufacturing facilities by the end of 2050. In 2022, we achieved 40.3% of the electricity used from renewable sources. 
Reduce water use in global Kellogg manufacturing facilities in high water stress regions by 30% by the end of 2030. Since 2015, we’ve reduced water use by 17% in high stress regions.
Achieve 100% reusable, recyclable or compostable packaging (by volume) by the end of 2025. In 2021, 76% of our packaging is recyclable (at scale).
Reduce food waste across our global Kellogg manufacturing facilities by 50% by the end of 2030. Since 2016, we’ve reduced food waste by 23% (as of December 2021).
Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Ensure equity, diversity and inclusion in our own workforce. This includes our aspirational goals of gender 50/50 parity at the management level by the end of 2025 and 25% underrepresented talent at the management level by the end of 2025. In 2022, 45.7% of management roles globally were filled by women.

 

In 2022, 22.7% of management roles in the US were filled by underrepresented talent.
People Engage 1.5 billion people in advocating for sustainable and equitable access to food by the end of 2030.

Since 2015, we’ve engaged more than 1 billion people in advocacy.

 

Since 2015, Kellogg employees have volunteered over 130,000 hours in our communities around the world.
