Ever since our founder, W.K. Kellogg, established our company, diversity and inclusion have been a key part of the Kellogg culture.
Today, diversity continues to be integral to the way we do business – from our 33,000 employees around the world, to the people who grow our ingredients, to the suppliers who help us bring Kellogg foods to consumers.
Kellogg’s commitment to supplier diversity is attracting attention from like-minded organizations, nationwide and around the world. For the second year in a row, the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC) named Kellogg Company among its America’s Top Corporations for Women’s Business Enterprises – the only national award honoring corporations for their leadership and support for women in the workforce and women-owned businesses.
Women like Lisa Hirsh, president of Accurate Box Company in New Jersey and a long-time packaging supplier to Kellogg.
“Kellogg’s focus on seeking out minority and women-owned suppliers really sets them apart from other companies their size,” Lisa said.
“Kellogg gave me a chance, back in 2008, and that’s all I wanted,” Lisa added. “I know that if I didn’t perform well, the relationship would never have grown.
“As a result of our excellent relationship with Kellogg, our business has continued to grow, and other companies have also expressed interest in our creative packaging solutions.”
WBENC is the largest third-party certifier of businesses owned, controlled and operated by women in the U.S. The organization assists Kellogg in supplier procurement, training and certification.
At this year’s celebration in Phoenix, WBENC honored Kellogg with a Silver designation – highlighting our continued leadership and sustaining results by supporting women business enterprises. Kellogg stands out as the only food company selected for the Silver Designation, from a list that includes major corporations and retailers such as Walmart, CVS, Kroger, Allstate and Macy’s.
At Kellogg, we’re a diverse and inclusive community of passionate people making a difference. We were honored to be recognized in April for a fifth consecutive year by DiversityInc as a “Top 50 Company for Diversity” in 2016, and proud to be the highest ranked food company. And we’re pleased to also recently have been named among the “Best-of-the-Best Corporations for Inclusion” by the National Business Inclusion Consortium (NBIC) and National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce (NGLCC).
These and the WBENC honor make us proud. But the real reward comes from the thousands of Kellogg employees and suppliers who exemplify diversity and inclusion around the world.
