World Food Day: For Us, It’s Personal

Kellogg Company employees showed tremendous passion and commitment to hunger relief in support ofWorld Food Day 2015 – collecting more than 2.1 million servings of food and exceeding last year’s impressive totals from the company.

·       Thousands of employees from Kellogg U.S., Canada, Europe, Latin America and Asia Pacific facilities participated in Kellogg-sponsored World Food Day activities. This included food drives, volunteering at food banks and more.

·       Donations and activities – such as packing food hampers and including encouraging notes written from employees – also supported school breakfast and after-school food programs for students in need.

·       Community food banks in more than 33 countries around the world received World Food Day contributions from Kellogg.

Thanks to these outstanding contributions from Kellogg, food bank shelves can be stocked and ready for families struggling with hunger, and school breakfast programs can continue giving children a nutritious start to their day.

On World Food Day, and every day, it’s in Kellogg's DNA to fight hunger around the world. Through the company’s global signature cause, Breakfasts for Better Days™, Kellogg set a goal to provide 1 billion servings of cereal and snacks, more than half of which are breakfast, to children and families around the world by the end of 2016. Since launching Breakfasts for Better Days in 2013, Kellogg has donated more than 900 million servings of cereals and snacks to those in need.

The bottom line? Adressing hunger starts here – and Kellogg employees say it best:

·       “Our breakfast feeds their morning, but participating in school breakfast programs here feeds their lives.” – Valeria, Kellogg Latin America

·       “It’s so important to ensure that children are properly fed before school, so they can concentrate and learn.” – Craig, Kellogg U.K.

·       “By donating our nutritious foods to those less fortunate, we can all get involved in this awesome initiative.” – Nick, Kellogg South Africa

·       “So many kids leave home very early in the morning without having eaten breakfast. We can give them a happier start to their day.” – Mette, Kellogg Canada

·       “Whenever we distribute food, I see grateful parents whose kids might otherwise go hungry.” –Julie, Kellogg US

We may not solve world hunger in one day, but by working together, we can all make a difference.
