U.S. Army Ranger Matthew “Griff” Griffin has a message for you if you think can’t make a difference in our world today.
After his deployment in Afghanistan, Griff and a fellow Ranger co-founded Combat Flip Flops, with the mission to manufacture peace through trade. He discovered how making a difference can be as simple as marketing a pair of great-looking flip flops made by the hardworking people of Afghanistan, Laos, Colombia and other areas affected by war.
In honor of Veterans Day, Kellogg employees recently gathered to hear Griff’s story of his forward-leaning company that builds production facilities, and jobs, in places others “fear to tread.”
Griff’s visit was hosted by KVets and Supporters, a Kellogg employee resource group committed to serving the needs and interests of Kellogg employees who bring their service experience to the company.
The audience appreciated Griff’s mission and message of how we can all make a difference, in large and small ways.
Griff was equally complimentary of Kellogg. In his Instagram post, posing with Tony the Tiger, he wrote, “Big shout out to Kellogg's for supporting #Veterans employment. Awesome people doing great things for communities all over the world.”
Kellogg encourages people with service experience to bring their special skills and ideas to the company. The company has more than 800 U.S. employees that have identified themselves as veterans, and Kellogg continues to actively recruit and develop veterans.
How about you? How will you make a difference?
