Whistler, BC – May 16, 2024 Whistler Blackcomb officially opens for summer operations this weekend. The resort is thrilled to welcome guests from the Sea to Sky Corridor, the Lower Mainland, across Canada, the U.S. and around the world for another summer of incomparable mountain adventure experiences.

The fun starts Friday, May 17 with the opening of Whistler Mountain Bike Park (WMBP) for its 25th anniversary season. Locally known as "Whismas," this highly anticipated event will feature exciting surprises and launch a season of events, activations and unparalleled mountain biking that will carry through to October. New this year, the freshly upgraded Fitzsimmons Express chairlift will make its WMBP debut, boasting increased uphill capacity by accommodating riders and bikes on the same chair - a gamechanger for guests looking to quickly access the popular Fitz Zone. Additionally, the Gatorade Skills Zone has received two new trails, allowing more opportunity for riders to safely hone their skills. Other highlights include the return of the Phat Wednesday race series and Crankworx Whistler - one of the world’s largest mountain bike festivals - taking center stage at WMBP from July 19 to 28.

Our dedicated team has been busy preparing our expansive trail network throughout Whistler Mountain Bike Park for the past several weeks,” said Belinda Trembath, Chief Operating Officer at Whistler Blackcomb. “All that hard work is greatly appreciated as we welcome riders back for our 25thanniversary season to the world’s premier mountain biking destination, which we're excited to share is fully operational for the first time since 2019.”

For guests looking for adventure beyond the bike park, there are plenty of other ways to experience the stunning natural beauty of Whistler Blackcomb. The reimagined Summer Alpine Experience (formally the Summer 360 Sightsee Experience) opens to guests on Tuesday, May 21 via Blackcomb Gondola, offering lift-accessed alpine adventures and activities on the mountain with over 50km of hiking and trail running, mountaintop dining, sightseeing, special events and more. The world-famous PEAK 2 PEAK Gondola will start spinning for the summer on June 15, connecting both Whistler and Blackcomb mountains, and offering an even more expansive alpine experience. Peak Express is also targeting a June 15 opening, providing guests access to additional trails, as well as the iconic Cloudraker Skybridge and Raven’s Eye Lookout. Guests are reminded that all operating dates are subject to change.

On top of these signature activities, guests can look forward to other on and off-mountain products and experiences, including:
