launch of an MX-5 Special Version of its world-renowned lightweight,

roadster.

Based on the MX-5 GT with Power Retractable Hardtop, the MX-5

Special Version sports a special striking Icy Blue exterior. Accented

chrome foglamp surround, front headlamp bezel and grille surround,

white lens high mount stop lamps and unique 17” wheel design further

enhance the sporty and sophisticated feel of the Special Version.

Fitted with the Power Retractable Hard Top found on regular

MX-5 models, the Special Version’s hard top opens and closes with a

touch-of-a-button in just 12-seconds. A single, center locking handle

further enhances the year-round comfort and security. Additionally,

trunk space is not compromised when the top is down, leaving 5.3

cubic feet of capacity whether the roof is stowed or over head.

Inside the Special Version, luxurious Saddle Brown leather with

blue stitching adorns the heated seats, door trim, parking brake lever

and steering wheel. A Saddle Brown leather-wrapped shift knob,

stainless steel scuff plates, dark silver finish instrument panel, and

chrome air vent side louvers and meter ring surround pieces round out

the plush interior.

Sporting the same 2.0-liter DOHC powerplant and 6-speed

manual transmission as the current MX-5 GT model, the Special Version

adds Dynamic Stability Control and Limited Slip Differential. ABS with

EBFD; strut tower bar; Xenon (HID) headlights; 6 disc in-dash CD player;

air conditioning; side airbags; smart card keyless entry; and Bose®

audio system with 7-speakers are also standard.

The MX-5 Special Version has an MSRP of $37,490. Only 105 units

are being produced for the Canadian market and will be available in

dealerships in February 2008.

Like all Mazda models, the 2008 MX-5 Special Version is covered

by a 3-year or 80,000 km vehicle warranty that covers every part of the

vehicle except those subject to normal wear, and a 3-year roadside

assistance program. Additional warranties cover powertrain and safety

restraint components for a period of 5 years or 100,000 km, body sheet

metal perforation for 5 years unlimited kilometres and selected

emission control components for 8 years or 128,000 km.
