MESA, Ariz. (April 8, 2019) – Daisy is a pet therapy dog who “says her prayers” during visits to patients at Banner Desert Medical Center every Tuesday through the hospital’s Volunteer Services.

The 7-year-old golden retriever has helped to raise spirits at the hospital for the past six years with her volunteer handler Ron Halterman, 72, of Chandler.

Together, Ron and Daisy have volunteered for more than 1,330 hours at Banner Desert. They visit patient rooms upon request and make the rounds to help reduce anxiety for visitors in surgery waiting rooms.
