Photos, videos available of our youngest cancer fighters

MESA, Ariz. (Sept. 23, 2020) – Banner Children’s Cancer and Blood Disorder Clinic is sharing a series of photos and a video highlighting several inspiring young patients, in recognition of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.

Photos and video are available for download below. They show a variety of children currently in treatment for cancer and blood disorders at the clinic, located on the campus of Banner Children’s at Desert (previously known as Cardon Children’s Medical Center).

"We’re so inspired by the strength and determination of these amazing kids every day," said Andrea Dinardo, pediatric oncology social worker in the clinic. "These photos and videos are just a small sample of the ways we celebrate everyday victories and cheerful moments with patients and their families. Whether it’s dancing with them, playing music or just being silly, we’re honored to help in making their treatment as upbeat as possible. We treat them and love them like they are part of our own family. They are truly real-life superheroes to us."

A video is also available: Ryker Baumiller, age 5, recently celebrated his birthday with Banner Children’s medical staff. He was diagnosed with B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia in August 2019. He is in remission and will soon begin maintenance chemotherapy at Banner Children’s Cancer and Blood Disorder Clinic in Mesa.
