Isvara Wilson
General Counsel
Isvara Wilson was named general counsel of Ally Financial in September 2024, after serving as acting general counsel since December 2023. In this role, she oversees all of Ally’s legal affairs.
Wilson joined Ally in November 2021 as deputy general counsel. Prior to Ally, she served as executive vice president and chief administrative officer at Columbia, S.C.-based AgFirst Farm Credit Bank, where she oversaw legal, compliance, lending and capital markets, human resources, and other bank functions. Before that, she was associate general counsel and managing director at Bank of America where she was named on the Financial Times list of most innovative U.S. in-house lawyers. Wilson began her career with stints at law firms Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP, Kilpatrick LLP, and Shearman & Sterling LLP.
Wilson received a bachelor’s degree in economics from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. She received a juris doctorate from Tulane University Law School. Wilson sits on the board of directors of Boys and Girls Club of the Crescent Region and Bechtler Museum of Art.
