Thomas P. Gibbons

Former CEO, Bank of New York Mellon

Director of Ally since 2023, Mr. Gibbons served as Chief Executive Officer and a director of Bank of New York Mellon Corporation (BNYM) from 2019 to 2022. Prior to this, he served as BNYM’s Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Clearing, Markets, and Client Management from 2017 to 2019. Mr. Gibbons also served from 2008 through 2017 as BNYM’s Chief Financial Officer. Prior to this, he held various leadership roles in the risk, treasury, and clientmanagement areas. He currently serves on the board of trustees of Pace University and on the advisory board of Wake Forest University’s Business School. He received a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Wake Forest University and a master’s degree in business administration from Pace University.
