A team of volunteers and 30 dogsExternal site which may not meet accessibility guidelines. take turns roaming the departure zones of the domestic and international terminals at the airport. They give travellers a chance to admire the animals and speak to their handlers as a way to sooth some of the anxiety of being in an airport terminal.
Employees at the airport, whether they are based there or just passing through, seem to enjoy stopping to pet the furry friends. And according to longtime Air Canada employee Yvan Beaudry says it’s a great initiative that brings a smile to his face.
We spoke to him at the airport while he was being interviewed by French-language TV station TVA for a report by a veterinarian on their weekend morning show.
