Leadville Trail 100 Run Race Lottery Set To Open Dec. 1
Legendary high-altitude adventure race debuts lottery for Aug. 22, 2015 event
"2015 marks our 33rd year of racing and the new lottery system will allow athletes a fair opportunity to register and ensure we once again provide an uncompromising race experience."

LEADVILLE, Colo.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Life Time – The Healthy Way of Life Company (NYSE:LTM) announced that registration for the 2015 Leadville Trail 100 Run, presented by New Balance, will move to a race lottery system, which is set to open on Monday, Dec. 1, 2014 at 8 a.m. MST. The internationally renowned ultrarunning event is scheduled for Aug. 22, 2015.

“We’re constantly striving to improve the experience for the athletes, crews and spectators participating in our Leadville events and believe the lottery system is a natural next step, just as we’ve done with the Leadville 100 MTB,” said Josh Colley, Leadville race director. “2015 marks our 33rd year of racing and the new lottery system will allow athletes a fair opportunity to register and ensure we once again provide an uncompromising race experience.”

Registration for the Leadville Trail 100 will require a one-time $15 fee, of which a portion will be applied toward The Leadville Legacy Foundation, a nonprofit foundation that addresses the ever-increasing needs of the Leadville and Lake Country, Colo. communities, and the Life Time Foundation, the private operating foundation created by Life Time to positively impact school nutrition.

The lottery will close at 5 p.m. MST on Dec. 31, 2014. Lottery winners will be randomly selected in mid-January and will be charged the $315 event registration fee.

The race lottery for the 22nd annual Leadville Trail 100 MTB also opens Dec. 1, 2014. The event will take place on Aug. 15, 2015. Registration for 2015 Leadville Race Series Events will open Jan. 1, 2015 at 7 a.m. MST.

Each year, more than 700 competitors participate all day and into the night on the 100-mile course covering grueling Colorado Rockies terrain where elevations range from 9,200 to 12,600 feet and athletes endure a total climb of 17,000 feet.
