QBE Continues Support of Wounded Warriors

Todd McCormick took a 25-mile bike ride through Suffolk County on New York’s Long Island. He knew the route well; he’s ridden it before. Except this time, it was different — he rode with his 15-year-old son, and they raised money for injured veterans and their families through Wounded Warrior Project® (WWP).
“Without the sacrifices of our nation’s veterans, we would not have the freedoms that we enjoy every day,” Todd said.
Todd was a second-year law student on Sept. 11, 2001, and since that day, he’s been an outspoken advocate for supporting veterans and their families.
“I feel privileged to have opportunity to support groups like Wounded Warrior Project and remind our heroes that Americans are grateful for their service,” Todd said.
Todd’s passion for giving back to wounded warriors mirrors that of his employer, global insurance provider QBE, which has supported warriors and their families through WWP for a decade.
“We are proud to support our veterans and are especially pleased to recognize QBE employees and their families who have served our country,” said John Langione, chief risk officer at QBE North America. “In addition to our support of Wounded Warrior Project, we have a variety of charitable initiatives designed to assist those who have spent so much time representing and protecting all of us. That support is exemplified by VALOR, our employee resource group that offers a forum for employees to participate in veteran-focused events throughout the year.”
QBE has supported warriors and their families through WWP’s programs focusing on career counseling and mental health, in addition to its Soldier Ride® physical health and wellness program and its Carry Forward® 5K event.
The company has also given warriors unique experiences at its annual QBE Shootout golf tournament, which routinely attracts top professional players every December.
“QBE has honored countless warriors through its support of Wounded Warrior Project,” said WWP Chief Development Officer Gary Corless. “We’re striving to empower injured veterans and their families every day, and we’re grateful to have QBE join us in that effort.”
Support from companies like QBE is so important because warriors never pay a penny for any WWP program or service; they paid their dues on the battlefield.
