Breckenridge Ski Resort Winter Tip Sheet 2025-26
Breckenridge Ski Resort, affectionately known as ‘Breck’ to locals and visitors alike, is one of the most popular resorts in the country, serving up big mountain views, high alpine terrain, and a pulse-pounding mix of extreme skiing, live music, and unbeatable après. The resort’s impressive peaks are set against the backdrop of a vintage, yet vibrant, mountain town. From its Five Peaks to Main Street, the entire town of Breck is practically ski-in, ski-out. And the fun doesn’t end when the lifts stop spinning! Breck’s iconic nightlife and signature events keep the energy going from first chair to last call. Where else in the world can you ski from the top of North America’s highest chairlift straight into town for a rowdy night out? The answer: Nowhere!

THE NEW ROCKSTAR ENERGY OPEN: THREE DAYS OF BIG SENDS AND BIG ACTION (Dec. 19-21)
Breckenridge Ski Resort is set to host the first-ever Rockstar Energy Open snowboarding event, a free three-day festival blending world-class competition, live music and a buzzing fan village. Following the success of its skateboarding debut in 2024, Rockstar brings the same high-energy format to Breck’s legendary slopes. Fans can watch top pros, including Olympic gold medalist Red Gerard, Colorado local Nik Baden, and style icon Jill Perkins, throw down alongside the next wave of rising riders. The event also features the Video Qualifier Series (VQS), where snowboarders worldwide can submit video parts this fall for a chance to earn their spot in the main event.
The Rockstar Energy Open will run alongside Breck’s iconic Ullr Fest, doubling the winter celebration with parades, bonfires, and the world’s longest shotski. Expect an electric weekend of riding, music, and mountain culture, all free and open to the public, with VIP upgrades available.
FIVE PEAKS, ENDLESS POSSIBILITIES
Breck is big. Like, really big. Spanning Five towering peaks and nearly 3,000 acres of terrain, the resort stretches along the heart of Colorado’s Tenmile Range. Rising with those five peaks you’ll find more than 180 trails and some of the most accessible high alpine terrain in the country, from wide-open bowls and playful groomers to technical rocky chutes and no-fall zones that get your heart pumping.
Breck is always finding ways to make the mountain experience even better. Major lift upgrades on Peaks 7 and 8 include the Freedom SuperChair, Rip’s Ride, and the revamped Five Chair. These improvements and more have made it easier than ever to get up high and jump straight into the action. That means more time exploring, whether you’re cruising mellow laps with the family, working your way up through progressive parks, or chasing Breck’s legendary high alpine. Not sure where to start? Our blog breaks down how to navigate and progress across our five peaks, and which mountain adventure is right for you.
If you’re ready to skip the small talk and head straight for the big stuff, you’re in the right place. Pioneered by locals and skied by legends, Breck’s High Alpine is untamed and wild. From technical rocky chutes in the Six Senses to no-fall zones in the Lake Chutes, get extreme with our blog that’ll let you in on the steepest stuff we’ve got. If all this has you in an elevated state of mind, talk to our pros in Ski & Ride School and get your guide to secret stashes and fresh lines that are hard to find without a local in-the-know.

KEEPING IT CLEAN AND GREEN
Breck might be all about the fun, but we’ve got a responsible side, too. Enter Commitment to Zero, Vail Resorts’ goal to reach a zero net operating footprint by 2030. In line with this bold company goal, at Breck we work together with our communities, our employees, and our guests to reduce our environmental impact, be good stewards of our public lands, and preserve our pristine peaks for future generations to come.
- Did you know it’s easy to go car-free when visiting Breck? With shuttle services, a robust free local bus system, the BreckConnect Gondola, ski-to-town trails and a walkable downtown, it is easy to leave the car at home.
- On the mountain, we’re replacing single-use plastic products with aluminum and durable reusable tumblers, plateware and silverware. In addition, we take the waste sorting out of your hands – literally. Our mountain dining team is dedicated to sorting every tray and piece of trash to ensure trash, recycling, and compost are sorted correctly and efficiently to reduce waste to landfill.
- Breck was recently designated as an official Dark Sky Community, joining a global network committed to reducing light pollution and protecting the brilliance of our night skies. That means when the sun sets behind the Ten Mile Range, you can look up and experience a starlit sky as pure and awe-inspiring as our peaks themselves.
- That’s just the tip of the mountain peak though, and you can learn more about our Commitment to Zero and Progress here. Caring is cool, and we care about keeping it clean and green.
