Vail Resorts Supports Colorado Flood Response By Making Significant Contribution to Red Cross Disaster Relief
  • Company will make an immediate $100,000 contribution to Colorado Red Cross Disaster Relief focused on flood relief efforts.
  • Additionally, $1 for every season pass sold in Colorado will be donated to the Colorado Red Cross Disaster Relief efforts, more than doubling overall contribution.
Vail Resorts, Inc. (NYSE: MTN) announced today that the Company will make an immediate $100,000 contribution to the Colorado Red Cross for their disaster relief efforts from the catastrophic flooding that has occurred in Colorado’s Front Range in the past week, specifically to provide food and shelter for those who have been evacuated from their homes. The Company also announced that it will donate $1 for every season pass sold in Colorado, which will more than double its overall contribution.

"Given the magnitude of this historic disaster in Colorado and the vast number of people who have been evacuated and need immediate assistance, we have made the decision to give our $100,000 contribution, plus $1 for every season pass sold in Colorado, to the Colorado Red Cross to assist with flood relief efforts. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of our friends, neighbors and employees in the Boulder and broader Colorado communities during this difficult time," said Rob Katz chairman and chief executive officer of Vail Resorts. "There have been so many lives affected by these devastating floods, but Coloradans have tremendous spirit, drive and compassion and together we can rebuild our vibrant communities.”

“I’m overwhelmed with the level of support from Colorado companies that continue to step up during times of disaster,” said Gino Greco, CEO of the American Red Cross of Colorado.  “The support of generous partners like Vail Resorts enables us to do our job in taking care of our communities during these times of extraordinary need.”

The Company also has worked with the Colorado Red Cross to establish a website at www.redcross.org/vailresorts-emp for its 22,000 employees to contribute to the flood relief efforts directly. Finally, over the next several months, Vail Resorts employees have pledged to give hundreds of volunteer hours to help with the recovery and rebuilding efforts in the affected Front Range communities.
