Spring Fever Kicks off the Bud Light Concert Series this weekend

 BRECKENRIDGE, Colo. — April 2, 2013 —Breckenridge Ski Resort received over 7 feet of snow in March, and the conditions remain some of the best Colorado has to offer. With beautiful spring weather, Breck continues Spring Fever this weekend by kicking off The Bud Light Concert Series on Saturday, April 6th with The Mighty Mighty Bosstones.
 
The Bud Light Concert Series features four concert days of big-name acts on Saturday and Sunday afternoons over the next two weekends. All concerts will be FREE to the public and will take place on a specially-constructed stage on the snow facing One Ski Hill Place, a RockResort, at the base of Peak 8, from 2-5 p.m. on each concert date.
 
In addition Spring Fever debuts a new event on Saturday, the Supergirl Snow Pro-Community Cup, a women’s only pro slopestyle competition, showcasing some of the best in the sport right here in BreckKjersti Buuas, Sarka Pancochova, Enni Rukajärvi and Silje Norendal are among the top confirmed competing women.
 
The full line-up of this week’s Spring Fever event is as follows:
 
Friday, April 5th
Big Mountain Camp: (April 5 – April 7 Friday – Sunday)
Requirement: Advanced Intermediate (comfortable on easy black terrain) Camps include: welcome reception, healthy breakfasts, experienced coaches to cater to all levels, group lunches, aprés ski activities, celebratory dinner, giveaways, swag and more! These camps will create lasting memories and lifelong friendships. Price: $850

Saturday, April 6th
The Mighty Mighty Bosstones (2:00- 5:00 p.m.)– Since their inception in 1984, The Mighty Mighty Bosstones have been one of music’s most prolific touring and recording bands. During their 27 year career they have played thousands of shows all over the world and released a slew of groundbreaking albums. The platinum-winning ska-core band from Boston are best known for their album Let’s Face It and their hit single “The Impression That I Get”, and are credited as one of the progenitors of the ska punk genre.
Supergirl Snow Pro-Community Cup (10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.)   
The Community Cup and the Supergirl Snow Pro have decided to combine forces for the first year to form the only major all-girls pro snowboarding slope style competition in the US. This event will serve as a showcase for the best of women’s snowboarding alongside art, music, yoga workshops and other female-inspired activities. Visit www.supergirljam.com for more information.

Sunday, April 7th
The Dirty Heads (2:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.)– This SoCal rock/reggae/hip-hop band makes music that represents positivity and good vibes, with a melodic style that includes hip hop and ska punk genres. Their debut album featured one of this decade’s biggest singles, “Lay Me Down”, which spent 11 weeks at #1 on the Billboard Alternative Chart, a record for an independent release.
Ripperoo's Mascot Olympics (10:00 a.m.-Noon)
Come to the base of Peak 8 on Sun. April 7th for one of the zaniest free kid-friendly events anywhere! Breck’s official mascot, Ripperoo, has invited a bunch of his mascot friends from around Colorado to come to Breck and participate in a series of snow sports to determine who will win the Gold, Silver and Bronze in different wacky events!  Keep an eye out for other mascots like CU’s Chip, the AirForce Falcon, and Edson and Franz from the Colorado Rapids.

Other Breck Spring Fever 2013 signature events include:
  • The Bud Light Concert Series featuring 3OH!3 April 13, and Matisyahu April 14 all on a specially-constructed stage
  • The “Breck Ascent Series” uphill races on Wednesday afternoons
  • The KSMT Spring Fever Beer Festival
  • The 17th Annual Imperial Challenge bike & ski race
  • The Spring Series International Ski Federation Super G & Giant Slalom Races
