Spring Fever Charges Ahead with an Action Packed Easter Weekend

  • Sunrise Easter Service
  • On-Mountain Easter Egg Hunt
  • Mountain Dew Throwback Throwdown

BRECKENRIDGE, Colo. — Mar 26, 2013 —Snow totals continue to rise at Breckenridge Ski Resort this March, with two and a half feet of snow falling in the past week alone!  With this much snow, it’s easy to remember why Spring Fever offers the best skiing and riding in Colorado this time of year. In addition to great spring conditions, the biggest party in the Rocky Mountain continues with an action packed Easter weekend.

On Saturday, March 30th, snowboard enthusiasts  can witness the legendary Mountain Dew Throwback Throwdown or bring the family out Easter Sunday for a beautiful sunrise service with a 10,000 Easter egg hunt following.

There is something for everyone during Spring Fever and this week’s events are as follows:

Friday, March 29th
Breck 5 ‘til 5 Terrain Park Happy Hours
Fridays:  March 29, and April 12 from 2p.m. - 5p.m.
Join us every Friday afternoon during Spring Fever at Peak 8, where we'll be running the 5 Chair late until 5 p.m.! This means extra access to the Freeway and Park Lane terrain parks, music from DJ DC, plus FREE hot dogs and prizes and products courtesy of Spring Fever sponsors Red Bull.

Saturday, March 30th
Mountain Dew Throwback Throwdown
Come check out the 2nd annual Breck Throwback halfpipe competition, presented by Mountain Dew! Watch as pro snowboarders compete for a $10,000 prize purse and take on a two-fold challenge: competing in our 22-foot halfpipe and then a specially constructed 5-foot mini-pipe that is an exact replica of the first one built at Breck in 1985. For tricks, no more than 540 degrees of rotation will be allowed, so each rider will have to get creative with straight airs, alley oops, huge slow spins, and hand plants. This event has truly become a crowd favorite and is not to be missed!
EpicMix Scavenger Hunt (Registration from 8:30 – 11:00 a.m. at One Ski Hill Grill)
This year GoPro is joining EpicMix for an ultimate Scavenger Hunt on Saturday, March 30th at the base of Peak 8. Be one of the first 100 people to register and be eligible to hunt for a GoPro camera. Three GoPros will be hidden throughout the day, with clues released via @breckenridgemnt on Twitter. Don’t let the searching stop there, pick up clues at registration and connect with fellow EpicMixers in an on-mountain scavenger hunt to solve riddles that unlock special EpicMix virtual pins in various locations throughout Breck. Participants are encouraged to celebrate Spring Fever with a special Après party at the T-Bar after the hunt. Registration is $10 per person which includes a burger and a drink.

Sunday, March 31st
Sunrise On-Mountain Easter Service
Get up early to experience  one of the most spectacular settings for an Easter service on Earth! You’ll want to ski with your Easter basket in hand this Sunday! Hunt for eggs all across the mountain on Easter Sunday! We’ll distribute over 10,000 plastic Easter eggs on the runs across the mountain that you can collect and keep. All will contain treats, and some special eggs will contain fantastic prizes!
