Vail Mountain to Offer Skiing and Snowboarding from Mid-Vail Beginning Friday, Nov. 29

  • The Gopher Hill Lift (#12) will also open on Friday for access to additional beginner terrain
  • One and the Eagle Bahn Gondola will remain free to foot passengers through Sunday, Dec. 2
VAIL, Colo. – Nov. 28, 2012 – Vail Mountain, the largest ski resort in the United States, is scheduled to open One, its new state-of-the-art gondola in Vail Village, to skiers and snowboarders beginning Friday, Nov. 30, including access to Lionshead via Lions Way to Lodgepole to Columbine.
 
The Gopher Hill Lift (#12) will also open to skiers and snowboarders beginning Friday, offering additional beginner terrain in the Golden Peak area. Guests can also ride the Gopher Hill Lift (#12) and ski or snowboard to the Vail Village base area to access other areas of the mountain.
 
Skiers and snowboarders currently have access to the Born Free Express Lift (#8), the Little Eagle Lift (#15) and the Eagle Bahn Gondola and terrain in those areas. Additional terrain and lifts will open to the public as soon as conditions and weather permit.
 
Foot passenger access on both One and the Eagle Bahn Gondola will remain free through Sunday, Dec. 2.
 
On-Mountain Dining, Entertainment and Services
The 10th, Vail’s newest on-mountain table-service restaurant, is open Friday through Sunday for lunch in the main dining room from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Reservations for The 10th can be made by calling (970) 754-1010.
 
The Look Ma level of Mid-Vail is also open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily.
 
The Marketplace at Eagle’s Nest is also open daily from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and the bar at Bistro Fourteen is open 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
 
Vail Ski & Snowboard School
The Lionshead Adults and Children’s Ski & Snowboard School as well as the Golden Peak Children’s Ski & Snowboard School offices are open for all ability levels. The Small World Nursery at the Golden Peak Children’s Center is open from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Walk-ins are accepted and guests can also register online at www.vail.com.

Vail Mountain lifts open at 9 a.m. throughout the early season to accommodate early-morning operations. Skiers and snowboarders are asked to observe all posted signs and closures, especially during the early season.
