Keystone Resort Adds Additional Terrain for the Upcoming Weekend
KEYSTONE, Colo. — November 15, 2012 —After another productive night of snowmaking efforts, Keystone Resort announced today that an additional 24 acres of skiable terrain will make its season debut tomorrow. Yesterday the resort announced it would add 44 acres, but with the additional terrain gained Wednesday night, skiers and riders will now enjoy 68 acres of new terrain and a total of 122 skiable acres Friday, November 16. The resort will add acreage on Schoolmarm, a beginner trail, as well as significant portions of the Silver Spoon and Jay Bird trails. Six trails, including a terrain park with more than 25 features, and five lifts will be open for the upcoming weekend at Keystone.
With over 100 acres of skiable terrain being made available for the weekend, Keystone will offer snow enthusiasts the most terrain open in Summit County. Forecasts continue to call for cold overnight temperatures, which will allow the resort’s powerful snowmaking to concentrate on Keystone’s famed A51 Terrain Park, as well as beginner and intermediate terrain on Dercum Mountain. More terrain is expected to open for the Thanksgiving holiday, including the resort’s mountaintop tubing hill and night skiing operations, both scheduled to open November 21.
Skiers and riders looking to spend the Thanksgiving Holiday at Keystone will enjoy top-to-bottom skiing and riding as well as the start of the resort’s Kidtopia family programming, the Keystone aglow holiday light installation, a Welcome Winter Family Carnival and the first Riperoo Parade of the season happening Saturday, November 24. Great vacation deals are available through the Holiday weekend, including 33% off lodging and the newest family programming at Keystone: Kids Ski Free. All season, children 12 and under ski free when staying two or more nights in a Keystone owned/operated lodging unit.
