Keystone Resort opens November 2nd with new Kids Ski Free offer, the nation's largest early season terrain park and great guest give aways
Keystone, Colo. — Nov. 1, 2012Keystone Resort is getting ready to roll out the white carpet, welcoming guests to the 2012-2013 season tomorrow, November 2, 2012.
 
Thanks to the round-the-clock efforts of Keystone’s snowmaking, grooming and mountain operations teams, Keystone Resort will be opening Friday with top-to-bottom skiing and riding on the intermediate Spring Dipper and River Run trails. The River Run gondola, Montezuma and Ranger lifts will provide uphill access for skiers and riders. For beginners, the resort is offering a learning area at the top of the mountain on the Endeavor trail, complete with a carpet lift that will be open to the public. Keystone’s Ski and Ride school will be offering lessons throughout Opening Weekend. Additionally, Keystone’s A51 Terrain Park, ranked among the top parks in the world, is debuting the largest early season park in the country with 25 features, all accessed by its own chairlift.
 
To celebrate Keystone’s co-founder Bill Bergman, who was honored this year as a Ski Hall of Fame inductee, the resort will kick off Friday’s festivities with a short ceremony thanking the ski-industry veteran for his contributions to Keystone and the industry at large.
 
Guests will be treated to warm donuts from Keystone’s renowned pastry chef Ned Archibald, as well as hot chocolate and coffee at the base of the River Run Gondola, before the first cabin heads up the mountain at 9am. The first 100 skiers and riders in line for first chair will be given a raffle ticket, with one lucky snow enthusiast taking home a special GoProprize pack. All of Keystone’s River Run area parking lots will be free tomorrow and throughout the resort’s Opening Weekend, which will include the A51 River Run Rail Series Back to the Grind Rail SessionSaturday afternoon at the base of River Run slope. The weekend’s festivities will continue at the Get Stoked movie festivalat Warren Station, located in the heart of Keystone’s River Run Village, featuring some of the year’s best ski and snowboard films.
 
Keystone’s Village amenities, including plenty of shopping and dining optionswill be open throughout the weekend. Skiers and riders will be able to utilize Vail Resort’s revolutionary EpicMix technologybeginning tomorrow, allowing guests to track their vertical feet and other on-mountain stats and earn pins for various accomplishments. EpicPhoto is also returning for its second season, providing guests with free low-res photos to share on social media, as well as the new Photo Season Pass product, which gives purchasers unlimited high-res photo downloads for just $30. The latest addition to EpicMix, EpicMix Racing, will debut later this season at all seven Vail Resorts, changing the way skiers and rider compete on the mountain.
 
Keystone is also unveiling a new product this season; FREE lift tickets for children 12 years of age and under with the industry’s most unrestrictive Kids Ski Free offer. Beginning on Opening Day, Nov 2, any child staying two or more nights in a Keystone owned/operated lodging unitwill receive free lift tickets for the duration of their stay. Keystone’s offer is as simple as childhood itself, without any red tape or restrictions. There are no blackout dates, giving families the freedom to take advantage of the special deal on weekends and throughout holiday periods, a rarity in the ski industry.
