Mountain Elegance Enchants at Keystone Resort's Wine and Jazz Festival
KEYSTONE, Colo. — June 28, 2012 —Nothing compliments mountain sunshine like the perfect glass of wine. That’s why Keystone Resort’s Wine and Jazz Festival, July 13-15, is the perfect way to spend a summer weekend in the high country. Featuring a new Friday night event that will boast exquisite wines all priced at over $100 a bottle, the weekend-long festival provides three days of wine tasting, perfectly paired live jazz music and the opportunity to learn more about that perfect glass at four wine seminars.
 
Toast to the start of a fabulous weekend at the new VIP Mountaintop Reserve Wine Tasting on Friday, July 13, 6pm-8pm. Hosted at the stunning Key Top overlook atop Dercum Mountain, the event begins with a gondola ride to the mountaintop locale, where an array of the finest wines and gourmet appetizers will be enjoyed, all while taking in the picturesque Rocky Mountain vistas. All wines featured at this event are exclusive pours priced at over $100 a bottle. With tasting tickets available for only $85, which includes a gondola ticket, appetizers and wine sampling, this event provides a VIP experience without a VIP price tag.
 
Saturday’s festivities uncork at Noon with a Meritage Wine Seminar at Warren Station and live music from the Village stage. Quaking Aspens Amphitheater, located just outside Warren Station in River Run Village, will also feature live music from 12:30pm to 4pm. The day’s main wine tasting event takes place in the Village plaza, 1pm-5pm, featuring a variety of wine and food samples. A Blind Tasting Seminar, an interactive seminar that explores key components of common varietals while teaching  how to deduce the difference between old world and new world wines, will take place in Warren Station on Saturday, 3pm-4pm. The afternoon concludes with more live entertainment from Elan Trotman and Lin Rountree, 3:30pm-5pm on the Village stage.
 
A chic start to Sunday morning comes in the form a Bubbles Everyday on Any Budget seminar to help find the perfect glass of champagne or sparkling wine for any occasion. Live music begins at Noon with the Bryan Savage Band on the Village stage, followed by the Hazel Miller Band and Dotsero for all-day entertainment. Sunday’s main tasting event will be hosted in the Village plaza, 1pm-5pm, with more live jazz in the Quaking Aspens Amphitheater, 12:30pm-4pm. The afternoon will include with plenty of smiles at the weekend’s final seminar, Jelly Belly Wine Bar Experience, 2pm-3pm in Warren Station, allowing participants to learn the fine art—and fun—of pairing great wines with jelly beans.
 
For those not taking part in the weekend’s libations, a KidZone will be open 1pm-5pm on Saturday and Sunday, featuring kids’ arts and crafts. The mountain will also be animated with all of Keystone’s summer activities, including mountain biking, hiking, horseback riding, scenic lift rides, golfing on the resort’s two championship courses, a climbing wall and children’s activities in Gondola Plaza and boating at Lakeside Village.
