Keystone Resort Celebrates America's Birthday with Entertainment for All
KEYSTONE, Colo. — June 25, 2012 —As summer heats up across the country, Keystone Resort provides the perfect Holiday escape with cool mountain temperatures, plenty of outdoor activities and an array of Independence Day celebrations. The resort will be animated July 4 with Holiday activities including a children’s bike parade, live entertainment, a fishing derby and plenty of great food. And with summer events like Friday Afternoon Club and Kidtopia Kids Theater on Friday, June 29 and River Run Rocks and Kidtopia KidsFest on Saturday, July 7, a Keystone vacation can stretch for days to weeks.
Fourth of July Ignites at Keystone Resort
Bring family and friends to Keystone for America’s Birthday and participate in fun summer activities such as a fishing derby, a children’s bike parade, a concert and much more. Starting Wednesday, July 4 in Lakeside Village, Keystone Resort and Summit Fly Fishing will host a free fishing derby for children 13 and under followed by a raffle and live music. Registration will begin at 8am with the derby beginning at 9am. Fishing gear is not supplied so make sure to bring plenty of tackle for the kid’s to enjoy a morning on Keystone’s lovely five-acre lake. Following the derby at 10am, children will have the opportunity to participate in Keystone’s annual Fourth of July bike parade in River Run Village. Every child who participates in this exciting tradition, now in its 10th year, will be given a decorating kit that will include everything from streamers to stickers and beads for the ultimate decorating party. Once the bikes are adorned, the parade will begin at 10:30am giving the opportunity for all children to show off their embellished bicycles. Later in the day, Lakeside Village will host a traditional Summer BBQ, from 3pm to 8pm with great food and plenty of cold refreshments. Live entertainment will be provided by Jeremy Dion, who will hit the stage with a free evening concert starting at 5:45pm in Lakeside Village.
Unfortunately, due to the current weather conditions that have created extreme fire danger across the state of Colorado, Keystone Resort has made the decision to cancel the planned fireworks display for both July 4 and July 7. We appreciate our guests understanding and cooperation as Keystone puts safety first.
Kids Discovery Days: Tuesday, July 3
In gearing up for Independence Day on Tuesday, July 3, Keystone Resort will host a Kid’s Discovery Day (occurs every Tuesday throughout the summer), which will feature free children’s activities. Conveniently located in River Run Village, the Discovery Day fun starts at 11am with a Connie & Company Kids Magic Show. Following the magic show kid’s can enjoy free access to a bounce house and face painting from 11am-1pm for hours of non-stop family fun.
Kidtopia Kidzfest and River Run Rocks Concert: Saturday, June 30 and Saturday, July 7
To round out the festive Fourth of July holiday, Keystone Resort will be featuring two Kidtopia Kidzfests on Saturday, June 30 and Saturday, July 7 creating continued animation throughout the week. Both will be complete with a petting zoo, train rides, caricature artist, bounce houses, crafts, mascots, a DJ, face painters, balloon artists and more. Every activity is free and includes special entertainment with Sven Jorgensen Variety Juggling act on Saturday, July 30 and “Smirk” Silver Medal Juggling Team on Saturday, July 7. Following the bonanza of children’s activities Keystone Resort will host a River Run Rocks Concert presented by Budlight featuring the amazing 80s cover band: The Six Million Dollar Band.
