Summer Kicks off at Keystone Resort with the River Course Opening
KEYSTONE, Colo. — May 3, 2012 — As winter quickly clears in the high country the Keystone River Course is scheduled to open Saturday, May 5 with the course’s front nine available for play. This marks the earliest ever opening event for the championship 18-hole course, which is oriented around the Snake River and surrounded by picturesque mountains with spectacular views of Lake Dillon. The par-71 course designed by Hurdzan-Fry is ranked by Golf Digest as a Four-Star Course, described as, “Outstanding: Plan your vacation around it.” Though golf will be kicked off this weekend, Keystone Resort plans on opening all of its summer offerings June 15 with the launch of mountain biking, lift operations, kid’s activities and more.

River Course Opening Day
The River Course will open Saturday with the front nine holes ready for playing, which guests are welcome to double up on for a complete round. Early season rates for guests are $40 for nine holes and $55 for 18 holes, which includes cart rental and practice balls. The River’s back nine will open as weather and conditions permit.

“The lack of spring snow will allow golfers to get out three weeks earlier than last year for their first birdie,” said Keystone Director of Golf Steve Corneillier. “Early season conditions will provide a lot of fun and an opportunity to get out and strike that ball early.”

Course amenities for this weekend will include a fully stocked beverage cart with refreshing beverages and sandwiches for lunch. Tee times may be booked online at keystoneresort.com or by calling 800-464-3494. Keystone’s Ranch Course is expected to join the River Course in the coming weeks. In addition, Stay and Play golf/lodging packages starting at $126 will be available throughout the summer season.

About the River Course
This sensational course features not only variable bunkers, water hazards, five sets of tees on each hole, but also the challenge of numerous elevation changes, including a 194-foot elevation drop from tee to green on the 16th hole, plus stunning views and a superb mountain atmosphere.

Keystone Resort in Full Summer Swing June 15
On June 15 Keystone Resort is scheduled to open the mountain bike park, lift operations for sight seeing & hiking, kid’s River Run Village activities and the Friday Afternoon Club. The mountain bike park will feature over 100 miles of single track spread across 55 trails. Scenic hiking will offer four family-friendly options including Nature Hikes, Alpine Fitness Hikes, History Walks and Mountaintop Trekking. Kid’s River Run Village activities will showcase everything from a bungee trampoline to a climbing wall, gem panning to miniature golf, offering families hours of entertainment.
