Breck’s Spring Fever Finale this Weekend
-BudLight Concert Series, Beer Festival, and Two-day Luau
highlight Spring Fever’s Final Weekend.

 
BRECKENRIDGE, Colo. — April 10 2012 —Breck’s Spring Fever festival concludes this weekend with the BudLight Concert series finale featuring Toots & the Maytals and Rusted Root on the Spring Fever stage this Saturday and Sunday. This is the final weekend of concerts during Breckenridge Ski Resort’s month-long Spring Fever Festival; the weekend also includes a beer festival, the 21st annual Imperial Challenge, and a weekend-long Luau.
Here’s the full schedule of this week’s Spring Fever Events:
 
WEDNESDAY, APRIL 11:
-FINAL BRECK ASCENT SERIES RACE OF THE SEASON, 5:30PM @ Peak 8
This is the last of the five-race Breckenridge Ascent Series.  The race consists of just the Ascent - use any kind of way to get up the mountain, but skis or a snowboard are required to come back down! Start at the base of Peak 8, head up Claimjumper to Pioneer, and finish at the Peak 7 Patrol Hut. A post-series party will follow at the T-Bar (Peak 8 base).
 
THURSDAY, APRIL 12:
-FINAL K.S.M.T. SPRING FEVER COMEDY SERIES NIGHT, 7 p.m. @ Beaver Run
Finish out the Spring Fever Comedy Night Series with the final event this Thurs. at Base 9 Bar in Beaver Run with host Chuck Roy and headliner, Dr. Kevin FitzgeraldWith a background that ranges from numerous tours as a bouncer with The Rolling Stones, The Who, and The Police, a 25-year career in veterinary medicine and over 20-years of performing as a professional stand-up comedian; Kevin Fitzgerald is a true renaissance man.  $10 at the door or $5 with a Beaver Run local’s card.

FRIDAY, APRIL 13:
-BRECK 5 ‘TIL 5 TERRAIN PARK HAPPY HOUR 2-5 p.m. @ Peak 8
Presented by Freeskier and Snowboard Magazine, the popular 5 ‘til 5 terrain park event is back! 5 ‘til 5 lets park riders cruise Breck’s Park Lane Terrain Park until 5 p.m., with both the 5 Chair and the Colorado SuperChair operating one extra hours on Fridays during Spring Fever. 5 ‘til 5 will also have free food, beverages, live music from DJ DC, giveaways and jam style contests. Prizes include gear from various ski and snowboard companies, Maui Jim, Rockstar, season passes and other great prizes, including this Friday one lucky guest will win a year’s supply of Mountain Dew!
-GOLD RUNNER COASTER
The Gold Runner Coaster will stay open for additional operations until 4:30pm on Fridays only throughout Spring Fever!
-TBAR HAPPY HOUR 2-6 p.m.
The TBar après bar at the base of Peak 8 will be offering $4 Bud, Bud Light and Breck 50th Anniversary Ale specials from 2 p.m. – close every Friday during Spring Fever. This Friday, DJ Kirbatron will be spinning tunes live!
 
SATURDAY, APRIL 14:  
-IMPERIAL CHALLENGE BIKE/ASCENT/DESCENT RACE, 10 a.m.
This year marks the 21st annual Imperial Challenge.  This race warms up with a 6.2 mile mountain bike ride from the Town of Breckenridge across Peak 7 to Peak 8, followed by a 2,500 foot ascent of Peak 8 to the top of the Imperial Bowl on the equipment of your choice. As your quadriceps quiver from oxygen deprivation and lactic acid build up, begin your descent to the base of Peak 8 on skis or a snowboard.  An hour and forty-five minutes could win; two hours would be a great time!   
 
-BUDLIGHT FREE CONCERT SERIES: TOOTS & THE MAYTALS, 2-5 p.m. @ Peak 8
Join other Spring Fever fans at base of Peak 8 for the unique sounds of Toots & the Maytals! Toots & The Maytals are one of the world’s most legendary ska and reggae groups, whose musical combination also includes gospel, soul and rock is a perfect blend for a high-energy live performance on the specially-constructed BudLight stage!

-WEEKEND-LONG LUAU PARTY 1-6 p.m. @ Peak 8 & 9
Join the fun in the sun on Peak 9 and Peak 8 this weekend for special luau parties at the TBar & The Maggie! Featuring drink specials, plenty of fresh coconuts and a raffle to win a free kayak. Come celebrate Spring Fever in style with a lei around your neck and some sunshine from our decks! Saturday, April 14th at he Maggie from 1-6 p.m. and Sunday, April 15th  at the TBar from 1-6 p.m. 

-BRECK SPRING BEER FESTIVAL, PRESENTED BY KSMT, 12 – 5 p.m. @ Main Street Station
KSMT “The Mountain” presents the 6th annual Breckenridge Spring Beer Festival on Saturday, April 14 at Main Street Station Plaza. This event offers brews, views and free live music, featuring beer sampling from 25 craft brewers and live music from My Pet Dragon, Jason Spooner, and Tracksuit Wedding. SUNDAY, APRIL 15:  
-BUDLIGHT FREE CONCERT SERIES: RUSTED ROOT, 2 – 5 p.m. @ Peak 8
Spring Fever’s Final concert features Rusted Root live on the specially-constructed BudLight stage. Featuring a strong percussion section that draws from African, Latin American, Native American, and Indian influences, Rusted Root has sold more than three million albums worldwide. Their synergy and excitement is bound to captivate Breck on the final day of the Spring Fever free concert series.
 
-WEEKEND-LONG LUAU PARTY 1-6 p.m. @ T-Bar
