Vail and Beaver Creek to Award Lifetime Ski Privileges to Winner of USA Pro Cycling Challenge Time Trial in Vail this Thursday
VAIL, Colo. – Aug. 24, 2011 – This Thursday, Aug. 25, the USA Pro Cycling Challenge descends upon the valley for Stage 3 of the race with an individual time trial event in Vail. This grueling climb up Vail Pass will pit riders against both the clock and their own physical thresholds and the winner will be rewarded with lifetime ski privileges at Vail and Beaver Creek resorts presented by John Garnsey, Co-President, Vail Resorts Management Company.

“Over the years Vail Resorts has recognized and rewarded only a few elite athletes with lifetime ski privileges,” said John Garnsey. “On behalf of Vail and Beaver Creek we are delighted to present this rare award to the winner of the USA Pro Cycling Challenge’s individual time trial race in Vail.”

The individual time trial race will start at 1 p.m. in Vail Village adjacent to the Solaris and proceed over the International Bridge and down Gore Creek to the east. Racers will then head left at Vail Valley Drive and right onto South Frontage Road towards their ascent up Vail Pass. The race will finish at the cul-de-sac at the top of Old Highway 6.

Lifetime ski privileges at Vail and Beaver Creek resorts will be presented to the winner of this stage of the USA Pro Cycling Challenge at the awards ceremony held at the Solaris in Vail Village at approximately 3:45 p.m.
