Ski Champion Lindsey Vonn “champions” School of Shred to Denver-area elementary school students

DENVER, Colo. -- Oct. 28, 2010 -- Wearing her gold medal, Lindsey Vonn, the decorated alpine ski champion, spoke to more than 450 kids today at Devinny Elementary School in the Denver-area about her ski career including her success in the 2010 Olympic Games and her three consecutive World Cup Titles. Vonn was the first American woman to win an Olympic gold medal in the Downhill and also took home a bronze in the Super G at the Olympic Games.

Devinny Elementary School won a contest through Vail Resorts and its School of Shred Program, which provides four free days of skiing or riding at Vail, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge, Keystone and Arapahoe Basin for all Colorado fifth and sixth grade students as well as one complimentary beginner ski lesson, including rental equipment. Devinny had the most students sign up for the School of Shred and won the visit from Lindsey Vonn.

Vonn signed autographs and answered student questions even in German at the event today and became the Principal of the Vail Resorts School of Shred program. To follow her alpine race season, visit www.ussa.org or follow her on twitter at @lindseyvonn.

Vail Mountain has supported Vonn throughout her career and Vonn now represents all six of Vail Resorts’ world-class mountain resorts–Vail, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge and Keystone in Colorado and Heavenly and Northstar-at-Tahoe in California.
