Guided Trikke Skki Tours Make Colorado Debut at Adventure Ridge on Vail Mountain
VAIL, Colo. – Jan. 28, 2010 – Vail Mountain announced today the addition of guided Trikke SKKI tours to the lineup of activities at Adventure Ridge at Eagle’s Nest. In addition to ski biking tours, the late-afternoon and evening guided Trikke SKKI tours offer a fun alternative to skiing and snowboarding on Vail Mountain.

The Trikke SKKI provides a patented technology that allows the rider to use the weight of his or her body to camber or carve into any turn at speed, while all three skis remain on the ground. A three-point stance brings control and stability to riding the Trikke SKKI on the slopes with a minimal learning curve. It is designed for use on everything from groomed runs to fresh powder, requires no special bindings or boots and the riders feet are not secured to the equipment, leaving them free to adjust to each turn. Similar to skiing or snowboarding, using the Trikke SKKI edges provides control of speed and direction.

“Ski biking has been popular at Adventure Ridge for years and we’re happy to add to that offering with the Trikke SKKI, which will allow less-skilled skiers and riders to experience Vail Mountain at night from a totally different perspective,” said Alex Gentry, Adventure Ridge manager.

Ninety-minute guided Trikke SKKI tours are available at Adventure Ridge Tuesday through Saturday nights from 4:45 to 7 p.m. They require no extra equipment, however, warm waterproof boots, helmets, warm layered clothing, gloves and appropriate eyewear are recommended. Headlamps are provided for tours after dark. Riders must be 14 years of age and at least 54 inches tall.
