 Beaver Creek, Colo. –Nov. 25, 2009– Beaver Creek Resort kicked off the 2009-2010 season at 9 a.m. this morning, providing skiers and riders with top-to-bottom skiing on the Centennial Express Lift, plus 13 features in the Lumberyard Terrain Park and beginner terrain accessed by the Buckaroo Express Gondola. The opening also kicked off the winter events season with the World’s Best Chocolate Chip Cookie competition, soon to be followed by the Holiday Tree Lighting event Friday. What’s New at Beaver Creek

Tubing Headed to New Heights
Known for its diverse and abundant family activities, Beaver Creek Resort is taking its tubing program to new heights. For the 2009-2010 season there will be a new, surface lift-served three lane tubing hill operating daily from 2 p.m. to dusk mid-December to April. The tubing lanes run 300 feet in length and will be located just below The Ranch, our on-mountain children’s ski school center. The price is $20 per half hour and tickets will be available at The Ranch. For reservations this winter call 754-5368 starting Nov. 25. 

 Mamie’s Mountain Grill
Mamie’s Mountain Grill is a new outdoor dining option at Beaver Creek that will be located at the top of the Bachelor Gulch Express Lift overlooking scenic McCoy Park. The eatery is named after one of the early Bachelor Gulch settlers. Situated south-facing among a secluded aspen grove, its large sunny deck delivers panoramic views of the surrounding mountains. Mamie’s unique menu will feature “grill your own” options of Colorado lamb or chicken and burgers, homemade signature soups, Euro dogs, Paninis and a myriad of other options. Select domestic, imported and micro-brewed beers as well as warm Gluwein and non-alcoholic choices will be available. Open daily during ski season from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and providing picnic table seating for more than 100 skiers and snowboarders, Mamie’s is sure to become a must-visit spot.

 Beaver Creek Family Challenge
This winter Beaver Creek is introducing a new weekly activity to its family programming lineup. The Beaver Creek Family Challenge
is a team race that takes place on Friday afternoons from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. throughout Beaver Creek Village and consists of unconventional physical and mental challenges. Teams of two or more of all ages are welcome to participate. Winning teams receive a medal and pride. Races start and finish near the base of Centennial Express Lift #6. Waivers must be signed by participants or a parent or guardian. The weekly Family Challenge begins January 8 and runs through April 2 and is one of numerous Family Programming activities in addition to Disco Skate Night on Mondays; Twilight snowshoe Tours on Tuesdays; Rail Jam on Wednesdays and Saturdays; Thursday Night Lights and the Crystal Grotto Children’s show which is free for kids 12 and under on Saturdays at 3 p.m. For additional information visit Beavercreek.com.

Vilar PAC Lodging and Lift Packages
During your ski vacation explore cultural and the arts at Beaver Creek’s Vilar Performing Arts Center (VPAC).
