USGA and Cisco to Bring U.S. Open, U.S. Women’s Open Interviews to Off-Site Media

Liberty Corner, N.J. (May 21, 2019) – The USGA, with official technology partner Cisco, will offer media not attending the 2019 U.S. Open and U.S. Women’s Open the opportunity to participate in press conferences during each Championship week from the convenience of their home or office.

Cisco Webex will allow media members to not only watch the press conferences, but to also ask questions of players via video during each press conference. All interested media need is a laptop or mobile device with video capability, and reliable Internet connectivity.

A full pre-championship press schedule will be available approximately one (1) week prior to the U.S. Women’s Open and U.S. Open championship. For those interested in participating, a short, 10-minute personalized tutorial on Cisco Webex will be available prior to each Championship. This tutorial is strongly recommended to drive the best possible experience for you. Please contact mediarelations@usga.org if you wish to participate, and a tutorial will be scheduled.

In addition, the USGA will make select players available for one-on-one interviews during championship week. All audio will be broadcast quality. Please contact mediarelations@usga.org if you wish to connect with a local player during championship week.
