United Concordia Dental Awards 21 Pennsylvania Organizations $410,000 for Education Funding

CAMP HILL, Pa. (June 29, 2022) — Twenty-one community-based organizations from across the state are receiving a total of $410,000 grants from United Concordia Dental to help enhance the education of their students through Pennsylvania’s Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) and Opportunity Scholarship Tax Credit (OSTC) programs.

“Education is an important building block in every child’s life,” said Ed Shellard, DMD, president and CEO, United Concordia Dental. “We are committed to supporting programs like these that give our children an opportunity to live and lead their best —  and healthiest — lives.”

The $410,000 in funding supports a variety of scholarships, including $110,000 for pre-K scholarships and $150,000 for scholarships to provide alternate educational opportunities for children who live in areas with low-achieving schools. The community-focused organizations benefitting from the funds include:

  • Central Catholic and Oakland Catholic high schools through Central Pa. Scholarship Fund
  • Community Foundation of Fayette County
  • Crossroads Foundation
  • Danville Child Development Center
  • Diocese of Scranton Scholarship Foundation
  • Dr. Gertrude A. Barber National Institute
  • George Junior Republic
  • Greater Wyoming Valley YMCA
  • Harrisburg Academy
  • Imani Christian Academy
  • Jewish Federation of the Lehigh Valley
  • Nativity School of Harrisburg
  • ProJeCt of Easton
  • River Valley YMCA
  • Star Foundation of Erie
  • The Learning Lamp
  • The Neighborhood Academy
  • Trinity Lutheran
  • Trinity Christian Academy and Westmoreland Christian Academy through ACSI Children's Tuition Fund
