A festive weekend of animal-related fun will mark the grand opening of the new Round Rock PETCO , located at 2701-A Parker Drive, on Saturday and Sunday, August 12 and 13, 2000.

The Round Rock store represents PETCO's fourth store in the Austin Area. All Austin PETCO locations will help to celebrate the grand opening by offering special advertised savings. The other Austin stores are located at 9828 Great Hills Trail, 5601 Brodie Lane and 1000 East 41st Street.

Pet-owners are encouraged to bring their furry friends into the Round Rock store for special events such as a low-cost vaccination clinic, an obedience problem-solving clinic, professional pet photography and free pet nail trimming. Three different animal rescue organizations will be at the store throughout the weekend offering pet adoptions to responsible owners. A strolling magician, a face-painting clown and a live radio broadcast with KKMJ-FM 95.1 will add to the festivities.

"We are thrilled to be opening another PETCO in the Austin area," says Round Rock Store Manager Frenchie Telfare. "Visitors will love our large selection of premium pet products and knowledgeable associates," Telfare added. The 15,000 square foot store features a small animal and reptile area, fresh and saltwater fish aquariums, a bird room and a grooming salon.

Store hours are 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday through Saturday and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.
