I joined the company five years ago as an intern, and my heart told me it was the best place to work. I feel the same today! I am always happy to share my passion for engineering and to help those around me in any way, shape or form that I can. My goal as an engineer is to leave this world better than how I found it.

I love being an engineer, because I get to help solve natural gas-related challenges, collaborate with colleagues in other departments, potentially save our customers money and focus on safety.

I have been a part of the Gulf Power team for four years. I believe a good engineer is someone who is a great critical thinker and confident when making tough decisions, while keeping the safety of all others around them in mind.

After three internships with the company, I became an associate engineer in power generation division’s rotational development program. I love being an engineer, because I can combine my love of math and problem-solving with my love of helping others. What better way to help than by making sure the lights come on when you flip the switch?

I grew up in Navarre, Florida, and have been with Gulf Power nearly 12 years. Throughout all of the engineering positions I have held, I have found a few qualities that make a good engineer: be open and willing to accept suggestions. Essentially, communicate, communicate, communicate. Lastly, get to know the folks who are building the projects you are designing, as they can offer very helpful advice to make the project run smoothly. Happy Engineering Week!
