June 1, 2026 — Cognizant has released its 2025 Sustainability and Corporate Citizenship Report detailing the Company’s progress across the pillars of people and communities, environmental sustainability and corporate governance.
As an AI builder bridging AI investment and enterprise value, Cognizant remains committed to leading the responsible development and deployment of AI. In the past year, Cognizant introduced the Cognizant Trust Framework, its proprietary methodology for the ethical development and deployment of AI. Building on its industry-first ISO/IEC 42001:2023 accreditation for responsible AI management, Cognizant expanded this certification beyond its global headquarters to seven other locations. The Company also became one of the founding contributors to the AI Skills Coalition, the UN’s global, open-access platform on AI education and capacity building.
To help address the reshaping of the global workforce brought on by rapid AI advancement, Cognizant doubled down on its Synapse initiative by raising its ambition to skill two million people by 2030 after reaching its original goal of one million a full year ahead of schedule. By breaking down socio-economic, cultural and language barriers, Synapse is creating new pathways to employment across the digital economy. Cognizant's culture of ingenuity was also on display through its Bluebolt innovation program, in which associates generated more than 340,000 ideas in 2025.
Cognizant's commitment to community impact remained strong in 2025. The Company's Skilling-Impact initiative in India created pathways to employment for more than 20,000 students from underserved communities and by hiring graduates from this program, Cognizant demonstrated that business growth and community prosperity go hand-in-hand. Cognizant associates also dedicated more than 244,000 volunteer hours globally, with thousands participating in activities ranging from STEM education and coding hackathons to mentoring and disability support.
On the environmental front, Cognizant continued to advance its internal net zero commitment, achieving a 48% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions from its 2019 baseline. For the second consecutive year, Everest Group named Cognizant a Leader for Sustainability Enablement Services, recognizing the Company's expertise in guiding clients through energy transitions and embedding sustainability into their core operations.
Cognizant's commitment to integrity and transparency underpins everything it does. In 2026, Ethisphere recognized Cognizant as one of the World's Most Ethical Companies for the second consecutive year, reflecting the Company's dedication to responsible business practices that guide technology toward a more productive and sustainable future.
"Cognizant’s 2025 Sustainability and Corporate Citizenship Report reflects the depth of our associates' commitment to doing the right thing; responsibly advancing AI; developing talent; and strengthening the communities where we live and work,” said John Kim, Cognizant’s Chief Legal Officer and Chief Administrative Officer. “Trust is the foundation of everything we build, and our sustainability work is guided by the same principles of integrity and transparency that drive how we serve our clients every day."
