TORONTO, April 1, 2014 /CNW/ - Mazda Canada announced sales for March 2014 today totaling 6,536, which is a decrease of 20% compared to March 2013.
Sales in March were led by the compact Mazda3 with 3,663 sold. 90% of all Mazda3s sold in March were equipped with the fuel-efficient SKYACTIV Technology, which also accounted for 81% of all Mazda vehicles sold in the month of March.
Since its introduction last autumn, the 2014 Mazda3 has been winning award after award in various markets around the world. Now, the Mazda3 has made its way onto the shortlist for World Car of the Year, and World Car Design of the Year. The winner will be announced at the New York Auto Show on April 17th.
"In addition to being the most awarded nameplate ever by the Automobile Journalists Association of Canada (AJAC), the Mazda3 has also received critical acclaim in many other markets," said David Klan, Senior Director, Sales, Marketing & Regional Operations, Mazda Canada. "Being named a finalist for the World Car Awards in two categories along with prestigious company is the highest commendation for our game-changing Mazda3."
