Pao de Acucar Signs Five Year Agreement With IBM Brazil

Committed to ensure its sustainable growth, Pao de Acucar, the largest retail chain in Brazil, announces a partnership with IBM to outsource its information technology (IT) infrastructure. The deal, worth about US$115 million was designed by IBM and Pao de Acucar to meet current business needs and to support the expansion planned for the next years.

The five year agreement will transfer two data centers of the retail chain to an IBM Global Delivery Center, based in Hortolandia, Sao Paulo. Pao de Acucar will benefit from a dynamic infrastructure, capable of supporting the current growth and future mergers and acquisitions of the chain.

  The contract was signed in September 2009.
