Tokyo, Japan, January 19, 2012 – The Astellas Asia-Oceania Foundation announced that it donated U.S. dollar 20,000 to the Philippine Urological Association for relief efforts in the Philippines after the recent Typhoon Washi.
The Astellas Asia-Oceania Foundation was established in March 2011 by Astellas Pharma Inc. (Tokyo: 4503) to promote the advancement of health, improvement of local health care systems and to support relief efforts for natural disasters in the Asia and Oceania regions. Physicians who belong to the Philippine Urological Association will be supporting victims from the disaster by distributing relief supplies including medicine, clothing and food.
Astellas expresses its deepest sympathy for victims of the typhoon in the Philippines and our thoughts are with those personally affected by the tragedy.
