NORWALK, Conn. (October 25, 2017) – This year’s Tiny House & Simple Living Jamboree will be a one-of-a-kind event featuring the latest and greatest in tiny houses, simple living and sustainability. Now in its third year, the event is managed by Reed Exhibitions, the world’s leading events organizer, and will take place from October 27 - 29, 2017 at the Arlington Convention Center in Texas.
With over 65 tiny living structures, the event will have an unprecedented collection of tiny structures on display. Attendees can tour a variety of homes including bus conversions, van conversions, yurts, park models, and of course, moveable tiny houses. In addition, the Jamboree will feature an outdoor DIY (Do-It-Yourself) Village, where tiny house dwellers from all over the country will relocate their living quarters for the weekend and be on-hand to share their stories and insight.
With close to 50 hours of programming, the education at the Jamboree will be a huge weekend highlight. Some panels teach skills—like building with salvaged materials or cooking in a tiny kitchen. Others address the experiences of people with diverse backgrounds within the community and advocating for more inclusive building codes.
In addition, the Jamboree has teamed up with Operation Tiny Home in support of their Build a Better Future Program to provide housing for homeless veterans. On Thursday, Friday and Saturday, attendees who have registered for the Operation Tiny Home workshops will receive instruction on finish carpentry, furniture and shou sugi ban from Zack Giffin of FYI Network’s Tiny House Nation. Giffin’s co-star, John Weisbarth, will also be joining in on the Friday and Saturday workshops. On Sunday, the completed house will be on display then donated to Farmers Assisting Returning Military (F.A.R.M.), which helps veterans in their transition from military to civilian life.
The hours of the show are:
Friday, October 27: 3:00 PM – 7:00 PM
Saturday, October 28: 10:00 AM – 8:00 PM
Sunday, October 29: 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Tickets for the Tiny House & Simple Living Jamboree are still available and can be purchased online at www.tinyhousejamboree.com. Kids 12 & under get in to the event for free with a paid adult.
