ARLINGTON, Texas—The Arlington Convention & Visitors Bureau (ACVB) has selected Fidel Mitchell as the new Convention Services Manager and Scott Poland as the new Tourism Sales Manager.
Fidel Mitchell comes to the ACVB from the Wichita Falls Convention & Visitors Bureau, where she was a Convention Service Representative. A 2013 Midwestern State University alum, she was a member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars as well as the 2013 recipient of the Midwestern State University Caribbean Students Organization Woman of the Year.
Scott Poland arrives at the Arlington CVB with over 10 years of experience in the hospitality industry, most recently working for food and beverage management company Culinaire as the Business Development and Social Media Manager. There, he had consistently met sales goals and was responsible for increasing sales to $11 million in annual revenue.
A graduate of the University of North Texas, Scott received his Bachelors of Science in Hospitality Management with a minor in Business. Before Culinaire, Scott worked for Red Carpet Charters.
Scott succeeds April Luter, who has been promoted to ACVB Director of Partnerships and Programs, formerly held by Kay Webb, whose official retirement date is set for September 30. With over 25 years in the tourism industry, Kay made her announcement to retire earlier this year.
