Nov 3, 2014

WOONSOCKET, R.I., Nov. 3, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- To kick off the holiday season, CVS/pharmacy today announced the return of its popular "Free Gift Card" promotion, an offer designed to allow customers the opportunity to receive free gift cards by shopping for everyday essentials at store locations nationwide. Now through November 22, ExtraCare Rewards program members can earn one $10 gift card every week simply by spending $30 or more on specially-marked items found in the weekly circular. Gift cards included in the offer are from popular restaurants, department stores and more, making it great for gifting or keeping. The promotion will also run for a bonus week in the November 30 circular as an added reward for customers to continue saving into the first week of December.

"We are thrilled to offer a gift card promotion again this holiday season, something our customers have come to know and love," said Judy Sansone, Senior Vice President of Merchandising for CVS/pharmacy. "We are committed to listening to our customers' feedback and providing them with personalized value each time they shop. This promotion helps to deliver this promise to our most loyal shoppers."

Beginning November 2, ExtraCare members can earn one $10 gift card to CVS/pharmacy, Darden Restaurants, iTunes, American Express or Macy's by spending $30 or more on hundreds of specially-marked products found conveniently in the weekly CVS/pharmacy circular in select weeks throughout the season. Qualifying products each week will range from holiday favorites such as gift ideas and stocking stuffers, candy and snacks, to household necessities, and the latest health and beauty buys. Also included are CVS/pharmacy exclusive products from the upcoming Hallmark Channel Original Movie "Northpole".

The circular can be found in-store each week or online via myWeekly Ad, a digital circular experience that transforms the way shoppers experience the weekly ad by allowing access to the deals on qualifying products throughout the duration of the promotion. All qualifying products will be clearly identified via in-store signage tagged with a "$10 Gift Card" icon. Shoppers can take advantage of the deals each week, and will have the opportunity to earn one $10 gift card of their choice each week throughout the duration of the promotion.

Once ExtraCare customers reach $30 on participating products, a special coupon will print on their receipt that can be redeemed immediately in-store for the gift card. Customers may reach the $30 during multiple visits to the store during that week, and will receive the coupon once they reach $30 worth of qualifying products.
