Airport to Conduct Disaster Exercise Oct. 8

Charlotte Douglas International Airport will hold a Triennial Part 139 Disaster Exercise from 4-7 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 8 to test emergency protocols and procedures. The Airport is required by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to conduct the exercise every three years.
 

The public and passengers may see some road closures and additional emergency traffic around the south side of the Airport that afternoon. Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department (CMPD) will assist motorists with traffic flow and direction starting around 3:30 p.m.

Exercise drill partners include CLT, the Charlotte Fire Department, Mecklenburg Emergency Medical Services, American Airlines and Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.
