London, 12 September 2013 — BNY Mellon, the global leader in investment management and investment services, has appointed Kira Nickerson to the Investment Content team as Managing Editor for the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region, with a mandate to revamp their content strategy.

Nickerson joins from Elite Investment Communications, a company providing investment writing services which she co-founded in 2008. Concurrently she worked as a freelance journalist, which she has been doing since 2007. Prior to this she was the Editor of Investment Week.

Nickerson has also been the recipient of many awards for journalism including the IMA Trade Journalist of the Year and more recently, the 2010 AIC Best Freelance journalist award.

She has also worked on the judging panel of Investment Week's Fund Manager of the Year awards for the last eleven years.

Commenting on the appointment Anne-Marie McConnon, Director, UK and Investment Marketing at BNY Mellon said: “Brands are increasingly thinking and acting more like publishers, which presents strong opportunities for BNY Mellon. Our unique multi-boutique model with 15 specialist asset management boutiques including Newton, Insight, Standish, The Boston Company and Walter Scott, means we have a vast array of quality investment content at our fingertips. Kira’s experience and market knowledge will significantly enhance our ability to package and distribute this content to our clients as we build on our track record for delivering high quality, newsworthy investment commentary.

Kira Nickerson commented: "Given the breadth of investment expertise at BNY Mellon, I’m excited about the proprietary data and information that I’ll be able to formulate newsworthy and useful commentary from. This new initiative is about giving clients something over and above their expectations – something I have always been passionate about."
