Newton Further Bolsters Fixed Income Team

BNY Mellon boutique hires Khuram Sharih

LONDON and NEW YORK, 21 May 2013 — Newton, part of BNY Mellon Investment Management, has announced the appointment of Khuram Sharih to its Global Fixed Income team as a high yield analyst. In the newly created role, Sharih will work alongside Sebastien Poulin, who joined the team in February 2012.

Sharih joins from Cairn Capital Limited where he was a Senior Credit Analyst working with portfolio managers to devise investment strategies for long biased UCITS funds, high yield credit funds and CLOs. Prior to joining Cairn Capital in 2007, he worked at Habib Bank where he was a vice president in the Investment Banking and Advisory team based in Pakistan. He has also held analyst roles at Denali Capital LLC and J.P. Morgan.

Sharih will be responsible for analysing global high yield investment opportunities aligned to Newton's thematic investment process. He will report to Parmeshwar Chadha, who is the lead manager for over £1 billion of assets under management in high yield bond positions.

Newton's 11-strong Global Fixed Income team manages £7.2bn in assets under management and in excess of £1.5bn High Yield assets under management on behalf of a global client base.
