Company Earns Perfect Marks in 2013 Corporate Equality Index; The Human Rights Campaign Names BNY Mellon Among 'Best Places to Work' for LGBT Equality for a Sixth Consecutive Year

NEW YORK, November 14, 2012 — BNY Mellon, the global leader in investment management and investment services, announced that it has once again earned a top rating of 100 percent as a Best Place to Work in the 2013 Corporate Equality Index (CEI). Administered by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation for more than a decade, this comprehensive Index has helped to identify trends and best practices in workplace diversity and inclusion, including the treatment of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) employees, clients and investors.

"With more than a decade of reporting and sharing trends and best practices, we salute The Human Rights Campaign for setting new standards and measuring performance through its Corporate Equality Index," said Jyoti Chopra, Global Head of Diversity, BNY Mellon. "We aspire to be a top employer and an inclusive organization for all people as demonstrated by our uncompromising commitment to diversity and inclusion. This commitment is not only important to BNY Mellon's culture and to each of us as individuals, it's also critical to our ability to serve our clients and grow our businesses."

BNY Mellon's superior ratings included factors such as equal employment opportunity policies, diversity training, equivalent benefits for employees with same or different-sex spouses or domestic partners as well as a supplier diversity program that includes certified LGBT suppliers. This is the sixth year the company's approach to diversity and inclusion has earned perfect marks in the CEI.
