BNY Mellon investment boutique appoints Jeremy Wells as senior client director in Charities Business

LONDON – 10 July 2012 — Newton*, part of BNY Mellon Investment Management, announced that Jeremy Wells will be joining the company as a senior client director in its Charities Business in September 2012.

Based in London and reporting to Andrew Pitt, Head of Charities, Wells will take responsibility for looking after a number of Newton's larger charity clients.

Wells is an experienced investment management professional. Having started his career with Scottish Amicable Investment Management in 1988, he went on to work in fund management roles with PDFM from 1994-1996, Gartmore from 1996-98 and JP Morgan Asset Management from 1998. Until recently Wells headed up the Charity Investment Team at J.P. Morgan Asset Management in London, as well as being the lead fund manager for their flagship UK Equity Fund for Charities. Wells is also an associate member of the UK Society of Investment Professionals, and achieved an MA in Modern History at Oxford University.

Managing £4.3bn of assets for over 300 UK charities, Newton is recognised in the UK as being one of the largest managers of charity assets¹. All investment mandates are managed in line with Newton's distinct global thematic investment process, which harnesses Newton's substantial in-house research.
