BNY Mellon Names Jeff Mortimer Director of Investment Strategy for Wealth Management

Wealth Industry Veteran to Lead Asset Allocation and Investment Strategy

NEW YORK and BOSTON, June 19, 2012 — BNY Mellon has tapped investment industry veteran Jeffrey Mortimer to be director of investment strategy for its wealth management group, effective June 18. Reporting to Wealth Management Chief Investment Officer Leo Grohowski, Mortimer will be based in Boston.

Mortimer, who has more than two decades of experience in financial services, served with Charles Schwab for 13 years in a number of positions, culminating with his appointment as chief investment officer. He also previously worked as vice president and partner at Bainco International Investors where he specialized in asset management and allocation strategies and advice for high net worth families.

In his new role, Mortimer will lead the group's investment strategy committee in setting asset allocation strategy and making investment recommendations for implementation in BNY Mellon Wealth Management client portfolios. He will also play a lead role in communicating the organization's insights on the markets, investment dynamics and portfolio strategy, both internally and externally.

Mortimer holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation and is a frequent presenter at client seminars and industry conferences on global markets, economic trends and asset management. He has been featured in a number of media outlets, including Barron's, Fortune, Bloomberg and CNBC. He earned his bachelor's degree in finance from Babson College in Massachusetts and an MBA from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business.
