Company has ambitious expansion plans for its Asia-Pacific Investment Management business and is hiring to support accelerated growth

HONG KONG & LONDON, 5 April 2012 — BNY Mellon has appointed Jane Caire to the newly created role of Head of Strategy & Development, Product & Marketing for Investment Management in the Asia-Pacific region. Based in Hong Kong, Caire will report to Alan Harden, Asia-Pacific CEO of BNY Mellon Investment Management.

"Asia-Pacific is strategically a very important market for BNY Mellon and we are very serious in our ambitions to become one of the premier investment management firms in the region." said Harden. "We will do this by strengthening our distribution, both in-country and regionally, by developing our Asian equity capabilities in the region, and by building local and innovative product solutions, tailored to the needs of both our local and global clients."

Caire joins BNY Mellon from ING Investment Management where she was most recently Head of Business Management, having joined the firm in 2008 as Regional Head of Product Development and Management. She has more than 19 years' experience in the Asian financial services industry, following 10 years' corporate legal experience in Australia. Previously Caire held roles at Alliance Trust in the UK, and APAC regional roles at Citigroup, Franklin Templeton and CLSA. A commercial lawyer by background and training, her focus has been very much on proactive business development, from strategic review and detailed business planning all the way through to strategic deal management and the implementation of corporate, business and product development initiatives.

"It's a 10-year-plus journey, but we need to move the dial significantly over the next three to five years and we are hiring across the board, seeking talented people who are ambitious, entrepreneurial, innovative and up for a challenge. Jane is precisely the high calibre of individual we are looking for to help us achieve our ambitions and we are thrilled she is joining our team," added Harden.

Caire will be critical to the firm's strategic business development across the region as it seeks to evolve from a local distributor to a regional product innovator and global preferred provider of Asian investment strategies. She will manage the strategy, product and marketing functions for Investment Management in Asia-Pacific.
