BNY Mellon Scoops Seven Trophies in Asian Awards

Awarded "Best Global Custodian in Asia" for fifth year running

HONG KONG, April 2, 2012 — BNY Mellon has received top industry recognition at The Asset magazine's Triple A Transaction Banking Awards 2012 scooping seven accolades including Best Global Custodian in Asia for the fifth consecutive year.

Chong Jin Leow, Head of Asset Servicing – Asia-Pacific at BNY Mellon, was named Custodian Banker of the Year with The Asset citing the award was in recognition for managing and building BNY Mellon's Asset Servicing business in Asia through boom and bust times, notably after the 2008 global financial crisis.

In the regional categories, BNY Mellon's Corporate Trust division also walked away with the trophies for Australia, Korea and the Best Corporate Trust Mandate for Korean Airlines (KAL) 20 billion yen (US$245 million) ABS of future air cargo ticket receivables. BNY Mellon's depositary receipt business won Best GDR Bank and Best DR Bank – India.
