Mar 5, 2012

NEW YORK, March 5, 2012 — BNY Mellon, the global leader in investment management and investment services, has been ranked the number one corporate trustee in the United States for 2011, according to Thomson Reuters.

During 2011, the company served as trustee on 1,263 new issues, representing more than $426 billion in proceeds.  The company's top trustee ranking reflects lead positions across all significant U.S. debt categories, including public finance, taxable, straight, high yield, investment grade and collateralized debt obligations.

"In a year when the volume of debt issuance largely mirrored the sluggish pace of the U.S. economy, our proven expertise across all debt segments distinguished us and helped us secure the top spot in the rankings," said Eric Kamback, chief executive officer of BNY Mellon Corporate Trust.  "Our leadership position in this extremely competitive marketplace demonstrates our ability to meet the needs of our clients and positions us favorably for a rebound in activity moving forward."
