BNY Mellon Promotes Andy Paterson to President for Wealth Management's Central Region

Responsibilities Include Portfolio Management, Private Banking and New Business Development

PITTSBURGH, January 11, 2012 — BNY Mellon's wealth management business promoted Managing Director Andy Paterson to become president for the firm's Central Region, which includes Western Pennsylvania and Ohio. Paterson, who assumed his new role at the beginning of January, reports to Timothy Tully Jr., President of U.S. Markets East. Paterson takes over the presidency from Joseph Banko, who was promoted to Executive Director of Market Strategy for U.S. Markets East.

Based in Pittsburgh, Paterson will be responsible for all portfolio management, banking and new business development in the region. Prior to this appointment he has held several key client-facing roles during his 11 years with BNY Mellon, most recently as a Managing Director for Western Pennsylvania and head of the Ohio region. Before joining BNY Mellon he was a chief investment officer for a regional bank.

Paterson earned his undergraduate degree from University Of Pittsburgh and is on the Board of Trustees for the Homeless Children's Education Fund in Pittsburgh.

Banko, who has been with BNY Mellon for nearly 30 years, also reports to Tully and is based in Pittsburgh. He earned his bachelor's degree in business administration from Duquesne University and is a Certified Public Accountant.
